The Fruit of Misplaced Worship
Forgiveness and Reconciliation Apr 29, 2025 9:11:57 AM Angela Aberle 1 min read
Misplaced worship is defined as reverence, devotion and/or adoration that should be meant for God – is directed toward something or someone else. It is giving the honor due to God to idols, people, possessions, status or even self.
The misplaced worship leads to fruit that is seen in: separation from God, spiritual dryness, confusion, justification of sin, dull conscience, loss of discernment, constant striving, fear, insecurity, dissatisfaction, addiction, obsession, dependency, neglect, manipulation, loss and hardship.
How do we overcome MISPLACED WORSHIP?
- RECOGNIZE the MISPLACED WORSHIP is there.
- REPENT for coming into agreement with the MISPLACED WORSHIP.
- LET GO of the hurt and pain by forgiving those who have tempted you into the MISPLACED WORSHIP.
- LET GOD help you walk a new way now that you have repented and forgiven.
