Yes! Of Course They’re Connected

Proverbs 17:22 states, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

This verse reminds us of the undeniable link between emotional well-being and physical health. In other words, it tells us that our mind, body, and spirit are deeply connected. This is a core belief here at Journey U, as you probably know.

It’s notable that this connection isn’t only a biblical concept – science agrees.

Emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety, and unforgiveness often have profound effects on physical health. It is well-documented, for example, that stress is a major contributor to illnesses such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders.

Knowing that the mind, body, and spirit connection is so powerful, we can’t afford to ignore one dimension as we seek to find healing for the others.

When we nurture our emotional and spiritual well-being, we can truly experience physical wellness.

But even more importantly, we will experience the abundant life promised by God.
