What is the Taco Takedown?
Taco Takedown is Journey U’s spring fundraiser where local cook teams, vendors, and businesses compete and serve their best taco creations. Guests eat, vote, shop, and support our mission of helping people heal from trauma.
When and where is the event?
Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Wild Stallion Vineyards
Note: All teams and vendors must be fully broken down by 3:00 PM for the vineyard’s evening concert setup.
How can I become a cook team?
Cook team registration will open in January 2026. Teams may prepare one or more mini taco varieties. Full details, rules, food handling requirements, and fee information will be available on the Journey U website.
What are the rules for cook teams?
We require proper Food Handler Certification for anyone preparing food. Teams must follow safety and sanitation guidelines. Detailed rules will be listed in the Cook Team Packet.
How do I become a vendor?
Vendor registration opens January 2026. Spots are limited and curated to fit the family-friendly, community-focused event environment. Approved vendors will receive a confirmation email with setup details.
How do I become a sponsor?
Sponsorship opportunities range from high-visibility event placements to smaller community-support levels. Sponsor Packet and registration will be available on the Journey U website in January.
Will tickets be sold at the door?
Yes, tickets will be available at the door for an additional $5 per ticket.
Is this a family-friendly event?
Yes! Children are welcome, and vendors will include kid-friendly options. Wild Stallion Vineyards is an outdoor venue with plenty of space to enjoy the day.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Outside food and beverages are not allowed.
How does voting work?
Guests will receive voting tickets at check-in. Voting closes at 1:45 PM, followed by the awards ceremony at 2:00 PM.
How do I get involved with the Silent Auction?
We welcome individuals, businesses, and community partners to contribute items or experiences for our silent auction.
You can get involved by:
- Donating a product or service
- Offering a gift card
- Providing a themed basket
- Sponsoring a larger experience (getaways, golf packages, spa items, etc.)
A donation form will be available on the Journey U website beginning in January.
What types of items are you looking for?
We’re specifically hoping to feature:
- Gift baskets (spa, gourmet, coffee, local makers)
- Restaurant gift cards
- Boutique or local business merchandise
- Professional services (photography sessions, fitness packages, home décor services)
- Experiences (wine tastings, date-night packages, family activities)
- High-value items (electronics, fine jewelry, premium accessories)
If you're not sure whether your item is a fit — it probably is! We’ll gladly work with you to find the right placement.
When are silent auction items due?
All silent auction contributions must be submitted by March 31, 2026 so we can photograph, list, and stage them.
Will I receive a donation receipt?
Yes, Journey U can provide a donation letter for tax purposes upon request.
Can we bring our pet?
Wild Stallion Vineyards normally welcomes pets on the property; however, for the safety and comfort of all our guests, pets will not be permitted at the Taco Takedown event.
